sometimes broken things make the best building supplies

last night me and jeremy made a lamp out of found objects for my lighting class.

i decided to make the lamp out of negatives, empty film canisters, a book on photography, and an old kodak instamatic camera i bought at a thrift store a few months ago.

if i've taken pictures of you with my giant camera in the past few weeks, your face is probably on my lamp.

the clubhouse is 52 degrees

today we FINALLY had a real critique.

unfortunately, no one cried.
this was always my favorite part.
watching people cry.

the only time i ever cried was after my undergrad thesis presentation. and then they were only tears of joy. my time will come, im sure. but not at FIT.

some people probably should have cried. but it was nice to actually get feedback on my work. although i would have preferred if it were more harsh. i already knew the things they would say before they were said, as is always the case.

i hope i get a fun job that i love. one that does not include designing trade shows.

my dean loved my project which is awesome. he asked if i could do an oil painting of one of my perspectives. maybe one day.

(early 3D sketches...maybe final images to follow on my blog...)
